Edson Curling Club AGM

CURLING ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Who: Everyone is Welcome

Where: Edson & District Recreation Complex

When: Monday, April 4, 2011 @ 7 p.m.

Why: This meeting is get everyone together that has participated in the leagues during the past year to discuss everything that went on throughout the year. This is a good time to bring things forward that you would like to discuss as a committee such as what you liked/disliked, what you would like to see be changed. We would like to improve our club and without any feedback from our curlers, we are unable to change things we don’t know about. Also, at this time, we have to elect/re-elect presidents, vice-presidents, secretary/treasurer, league representatives, etc. for the curling club. This is a great opportunity for you to get involved with the curling club.

The Edson Curling Club

 We are winding down for this season. Thank-you to all of our sponsors this year. We are a non-profit society and greatly appreciate our sponsors continued support with advertising signs, donations of prizes for bonspiels and financial help with our junior league. We have a few spots left for new signs if your company would like to advertise. The cost is $500 annually.

Sundance Room Renovations

We have been busy renovating the Sundance Room since the beginning of the New Year. We replaced the carpet, ceiling tiles and installed ceramic tile by the bar area. We painted and eliminated the pine moldings. Renovations are still ongoing as we are waiting for the new counter top to be put in the bar area. Here are some before and after pictures:

2011 Edson Curling Club Photos (Ladies Night)

I am trying to "kill 2 birds with one stone" by taking photographs in the curling arena for the blog (maybe to print eventually) and practicing for my photography workshop at the same time. The lighting was challenging but I ended up adjusting them on the computer  so they are better.

Our main course entrees start at $17.95/plate. The Weyerhaeuser Room holds up to 250 people with round tables. The room rent is FREE when you have a bar as well as a catered meal. Our staff will set up the room & clean up afterwards. All you have to do is add your own decorations. We have a wide variety of colored linens available to us for special order.
